Hello Everyone,
I am wishing you guys the best in preserving this historic place. It would be a cool place to come and investigate. Maybe once you get the funding you need you could possibly hold paranormal events such as a paranormal convention of sorts. I would definitely attend. The very best to you and the awesome work you are doing.

The non-profit needs a low interest loan in the amount of $25,000 to get the doors open and taxes paid.
The Save The Bowen foundation is in the process of planning a historical preservation project in Bartonville, IL. Our project plan is to save the Bowen building of the Peoria State Hospital. Some of the ideas for use of the property include one, part or all of the following:

Luxury Lofts
Themed Bed and Breakfast
Commercial Space
Museum for the Peoria State Hospital

The great thing about this project is the property is already part of the historic Peoria State Hospital District and the project can generate an income stream after abatement without anything being done to the building regarding construction. This would allow as much time as necessary to get developers, investors and grant proposals together without a time crunch right away.

We have established a 501 c 3 nonprofit to ensure the property remains historic, we are however very willing to listen to all ideas from other developers and or interested investors.

Our plans are to first abate the structure and generate revenue as plans are made for the development of the project. This project can generate its own income as soon as the doors can be opened after asbestos abatement. Revenue can be produced in several streams including historical tours, ghost hunting tours, special events, haunted house (seasonal)

We are very open to partnership proposals and would consider discussing any type of partnership as long as the project remains a historical preservation. Even though we have ideas those can be changed if needed by better ideas and additional revenue streams. Do not be afraid to discuss any ideas you have.
Please take a look at the project at www.peoria-asylum.com

I'm coming all the way from Arizona to see the place with my boyfriend. I find the history of the place to be completely intoxicating. I really hope we find something! Looking foward to hearing about upcoming events :)
